Between Nexus’ full-time child life staff and volunteers, activities including pet therapy, outdoor walks, movies and music entertainment, game time, and arts and crafts are planned in part of Child Life Services to help patients feel like they’re at home. Our facility boasts an indoor activity center as well as a large outdoor playground and seating area. We also have ample greenspace for playing outside. For quiet, personal time, DVD players and radios are available to check-out for use in a child’s room.
If children have a prolonged stay that could impact their school year, Nexus Children’s Hospital coordinates with local school districts to provide an onsite teacher. Internet access is available for completion of school work or for recreational therapy purposes.
