Adolescent Program Coordinator - Full Time


Under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager, the Adolescent Program Coordinator assists in the direct patient care and exemplifies leadership and coordinates the pediatric program. Program Coordinators maintains and followers the structure program the physicians has developed for the patients.

• Provide an excellent customer service experience by serving as a liaison between the patient, family members, and interdepartmental teams

• Identify and assist in the patient redirection of abnormal behavior including but not limited to a crisis, hostile behaviors, medically related to the disease process, and so forth.

• Encourage team building activities with patients and family

• Communicate effectively, oral and written, with patients, parents, co-workers, Physicians, and Administrative staff

• Keeps open channels of communication with Physicians, patients, and other service areas

• Facilitates active and enjoyable activities that inspire healthy lifestyle choices such as group exercises, educational learning activities, and so forth

• Responsible for managing the flow of patients.

• Encourage patient accountability in a positive manner

• Reward patients using token economy when the patient displays positive behavior

• Meet one with patients in group and one on one session as scheduled to promote overall wellness

• Excellent public speaking skills in group settings

• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles.

• Delegate task to unit team members for a smooth transition in daily routine

• Tour admitting patient and family

• Assist patient and family when applicable to preparing daily menu- make the experience as enjoyable as possible

• Follow all HBH procedures and guidelines

• Be knowledgeable about HBH PWS and Weight Management Program Guidelines

• Coordinate with all other disciplines when possible to assist in educating patient and family

• Coordinate with other disciplines to create enjoyable activities

• Accountable for ongoing professional growth and development.

• PCC demonstrates adaptability and flexibility during changing demands.

• Displays initiative to improve relative job functions.

• Offers suggestions to streamline the process for efficient patient flow.

• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements


  • At least six (6) months experience working in a hospital/rehabilitation/long-term care environment
  •  Previous experience in Pediatric patient care in a hospital/rehabilitation/long-term care environment preferred

Education Required

  • High school Degree or equivalent

Additional Information


• Certified as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Texas

• Certified in BLS

• Certified in SAMA (patient de-escalation)
